Welcome

You have found your way to a Christian church that – we want to say this right up front – is definitely different but in a very good way!

How?

By being committed to a revelation of the gospel or “good news” of Jesus that welcomes and includes everyone – and we do mean everyone.

You see, for us, all the world’s people are children of God and they all bear the Spirit within them. All the world’s religions (including the secular ones!) are also valid as paths to God. They each express in their own ways the love and wisdom embodied for us in Jesus.

What really matters is “learning to give the first place to Love”. We believe it’s as simple and as challenging, as rich and as rewarding, as that.

Giving the first place to Love in what we think, say and do, caring for one another and our world – and doing that according to the awesome, spiritual wisdom hidden inside the literal sense of the Bible’s words – is what opens us up to become as real and loving and genuinely free as God always meant us to be.

At Good Shepherd, this is the path we follow and in so many ways – in worship and learning, in fun and friendship, in programs of spiritual growth and in service to our community. There’s always a lot happening (see Our Programs).

Please consider this your personal invitation to walk this path, too, and join in the adventure. Just drop by some Sunday (see What to Expect). Kids of all ages are welcome. Or, if you’d prefer, you can always call ahead (519 743-3845) to talk with one of the pastors; they’re a friendly and understanding bunch who won’t go all “churchy” on you.
