Awaken to Love A Swedenborgian Credo

I believe in God,
    infinite, joyful Creator Spirit,
    known by many names
    and in many ways;
    Life within and beyond this life,
    Spirit calling to my spirit;
revealed for me in Jesus:
    perfect love with a gentle face,
    guide and friend to me.
     
I believe in God’s wisdom,
     my true path revealed
     in the Word’s deep meaning:
in Jesus’ victory, my freedom
     to choose for him each day,
     contesting  the hells
     in the power of his Spirit;
     my life a journey of re-birth,
     an angel form emerging.
     
I believe in God’s love,
     for myself and all others,
     the world in one embrace.
I believe in God’s promise,
     Love’s new beginning in me,
     that I am blessed
     and shall be a blessing,
     of use in weaving together 
     the circle of life
     in justice and peace: 
     God’s New Jerusalem.
          Amen.
