Our Affirmation of Faith:

I am blessed to be human upon this earth; it is a gift of creation. I willingly bring to this earth, through my hands and my speech, expressions of love, understanding and compassion. I give of myself because it truly gives me joy to connect. I make sacred time for myself to reinvigorate my spirit and to connect to the Love that is God. I give away the act of casting judgment, choosing love over fear. I celebrate my connection to all life. While here, I acknowledge that Love is my heritage and my birthright; I lead with love.

One of our recent Community Sundays exploring “Swedenborgianism & the Psychedelic Renaissance”

What to expect in this community, open to everyone

Life is meant to awaken us to our True Selves, our inherent unity with the Divine One known by many names. For many of us, no matter our belief system, this often involves a spiritual journey where we start to feel the call to become more aware of the vast love and wisdom intrinsic to our hearts and to life. We discover this further with spiritual practice, as well as by allowing God to help us live in the ways of compassion, wisdom, and loving-kindness without a need to dominate or control. Our community, grounded in an interfaith-Christianity called Swedenborgianism, has been inspired by many spiritual texts and approaches, but particularly in the belief that Jesus and the symbolic stories of the Hebrew and Christian Bibles are important teachings about the love, social justice, compassionate wisdom, and growth that the Spirit of God empowers. These examples invite us to allow Divinity to more fully enlighten each of our unique forms of God’s Divine Love on earth - as well as become more aware that our truest selves are already one with this Heavenly Parent, known by many names! And here at the Church of the Good Shepherd, you’ll find that we offer each other this type of affirmation, support, guidance, and love on our journey.

What Does it Mean that We Must Die in Order to Live? Picking Up Our Cross and Following God(dess)

Open Your Heart to Song - Through reflection, music, dance, drama and the spoken word, we as a community celebrate life in the Spirit of the Living Lord, who transcends and interconnects all religions. Although we meet in-person and online for worship on Sundays at 10:30 am, we believe that worship happens in every moment! Stay tuned and connect with our community by joining our email list by emailing office@shepherdsway.ca or connecting with us on Facebook.

Connect Safely with Others - Healthy love is about supportive relationships in a reflective, safe community and the Church of the Good Shepherd strives to be that kind of communal space. There is always something interesting going on - community-driven worship, social groups, outings, concerts, interpretive dance, discussion groups, gardening, and more! Grow new friendships and take your place in our work to uplift others.

Share in Love & Wisdom - Love is about connecting as well as learning to uplift yourself and others. We have partnerships with non-profit organizations within our community who look to our support in their endeavours to meet the needs of so many, and we have our own projects to help support communal health and peace. From providing assistance to Syrian refugees who are beginning anew, to annual fundraising for shelters such as Marillac Place (a shelter for homeless mothers), Mary's Place (YWCA emergency women's shelter) and The Soup Kitchen, our hope is to give to our community with these acts of kindness to bring hope to every heart, including our own. And that is only scratching the surface!

Sunday Messages with Community Voices - Below is one of the recent messages from our Minister, Cory Bradford-Watts. For more videos, visit SwedenborgianCommunity.Org or their YouTube - parts of our pastor’s other, online ministry.
